Targeting a Dream
Like many of us that get something stuck in our head, Kim couldn’t stop thinking about a neighborhood and home style she had fallen in love with years before.
The problem was that homes in the area rarely were up for sale—and when they did, they were often traditional in style and outdated.
At The Burhop Group, we pride ourselves in thinking out-of-the-box to come up with solutions for our clients. We created a unique, personalized campaign to seek out a home within Kim’s desired neighborhood, and in the meantime provided recommendations and helped prepare her current home for sale.
We knew her home would need to appeal to the widest pool of buyers possible in order to earn top dollar and provide funding for improvements at a new place. Our creativity paid off on both ends—we discovered a seller who was not yet on the market and successfully negotiated an offer with them while marketing and selling her existing home quickly.
The financial result enabled Kim to hire professional designer Josie Chapman to bring her imagination to life. Josie did an incredible job transforming the home through a warm neutral palette, adding textures and decor that give the entire space a sophisticated ‘wordly-travel’ feel.
Kim has told us repeatedly that she just can’t believe how incredible it all turned out, and how we helped make it happen—we were happy to be a part of making Kim’s dream come true!

The renovation included new paint, lighting, and the transformation of the sunroom to a stunning new dining space. Josie rounded out the home with soft and luxurious furniture from Crate & Barrel.
Josie also gave the fireplace a much-needed makeover, with a new mantle and lime-wash walls. The neutral but warm palette gives the whole space a sense of openness and serenity.
